DAY 24


Today is Friday, it’s a normal school day. When I get home I went out to play a little bit and go back in to the house. And I watched a Chinese TV show, when I finished watching that TV show I feel hungry. So I walk down to the kitchen and find something to eat. It’s a food that the Chinese people eat it often, especially the people from north of China.

It's called a dumpling. There are so many types of dumplings, but they just add different things in there. The most popular type of dumpling in China is chives pork dumpling, it was easy to make. I like so many types of dumpling, I saw a dumpling restaurant in the YouTube video, it was in China, there are so many types of dumpling in there, you just have to pay 20CNY(20CNY is round in 3-4 dollars) and you can eat whatever you want from that restaurant. When I go back to China I will go there to eat. I think I will like to eat the Chinese sauerkraut dumpling, but I never eat them before. The reason that I will like Chinese sauerkraut is that I like the Chinese sauerkraut, I like to use the Chinese sauerkraut to cook with the noodles.

I eat the dumplings different today. I make some soup with dumplings, it tasted very good, so I don’t have to use any sauce. It’s very easy to do. The first to make it is to get some water in the pot and wait for the water to boil. Then put the dumplings into the pot, and when the meat in the dumplings are cooked, that means it’s done. Then put some flavors in a bowl and add the dumplings in, then put the hot water into the bowl, and stir them. I also put the hot sauce in there, it makes the soup taste so good, but if you can’t eat any spicy stuff l, so you better don’t add hot sauce.

DAY 23

Today is Thursday, it's a normal school day. When I get home, and I went out to play a little bit and come back to eat dinner. My dinner for tonight is from my uncle’s restaurant, it’s an America Chinese food. America Chinese food means the chef make the flavor of Chinese food more Americans like, it’s not real Chinese food.

It's sesame chicken, it's not a real Chinese food because the flavor is made for American. There are so many Chinese foods that taste like sesame chicken because they taste sweet and sour and a little bit spicy. The people from FuZhou like sour and sweet, they have more dishes that taste sweet and sour, like sour soup, sweet and sour pork ribs… The food that was in the sweet and sour dishes, most of them are been fried. I think why they call that dish sesame chicken is because they put sesame in the chicken, but this time I didn't want sesame in there.

I have been to the kitchen of uncle's restaurant, I can't really see how they make sesame chicken, but I can think about it and imagine how they make it. The first thing is to use a pot of oil fried the chicken and took them out for later. Then make the sauce, I watched the video of how to make sweet and sour food when they make the sauce of sweet sour food, they always have vinegar and sugar and a little ketchup and some water, they put them in a pot and heat them, then stir them. Then they put the chicken that was already been fried in there, and stir them, and put the broccoli into a pot that has boil water in there, then use the water to cook the broccoli, then put the broccoli into the bowl. The last step is to put the chicken in the top of the broccoli, and put some sesame into the top of the chicken.

DAY 22

Today is Wednesday, it’s a normal school day. I go to school as normal and take the bus home at 3:25PM. When I get home I went out to play for a little bit, and when I get home, I feel really hungry. So I opened the fridge, and I saw a box of lo mein in there, and I took it out for my dinner and put it in the microwave to heat it up.

Lo mein is my most favorite noodle, I like how the lo mein noodles taste like. In China, when my mom doesn't want to cook, she will give me 10 Chinese yuan to buy fried noodles. Their noodles are like the noodles that was used for lo mein, but they don’t add soy sauce into the noodles, I like that more. I like the flavor that they make for the fried noodles, I love it, I want to fly back to China now, and get some fried noodles.

The lo mein is from my uncle’s restaurant, today I choose chicken with lo mein. I know how they make the lo mein because I watched how they make it in the kitchen my uncle’s restaurant. They put the lo mein into boiling water and cook them until the noodles get soft. And they fried the vegetables and chicken, then put the noodles that has been cooked in the boiling water into the pot and stir them,and then put a little soy sauce around the inside of the pot. They make it very quickly so the noodles will not get to soft. Then they put them into a plastic box, and use a plastic cover to cover it.

DAY 21

Today is Tuesday, it’s a normal school day, but we have a field trip to Boston.This is my first time going to Boston, I have only been to New York City and Albany, so this is my first time leaving New York State. I know there is a Chinatown in Boston, but I can’t go there. I think that Chinatown is not really big, I saw that in the google maps.

We visited the Boston for one day, and at 4:00PM we take the bus back to Albany. At 6:00PM, our buses stop at the service area, and most people are choosing to buy MacDonald for there dinner, me either. I don’t eat MacDonald often, just sometimes we wants to there, and we will order some food. In China, they also have MacDonald, but I like KFC more because the KFC in China is much better than MacDonald in the United States. The KFC in China, they make the fry chicken crispy, and they just use the real chicken to make it, it’s 100% chicken. And the KFC in China also has some Chinese meal and they make the bread that was used for burgers more colorful, they had pink, black, yellow…

I ordered a medium size french fries and 10 pieces of chicken nuggets and a drink cup. In my drink cup, I put half coke and half sprite, when I was in China, I always do that. The french fries are made with potatoes, in China, they make the french fries very long, what they do is mashed potatoes and use some cooking tools to make it,when they potatoes come out, they must put it in to the boil oil, otherwise it will be out of shape. I think the chicken nuggets are not whole chicken, maybe they put some other things in there, I never watched how they make chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets in China is very expensive, one chicken nuggets cost one Chinese yuan, one Chnese yuan can buy a public bus ticket, I think most people think it’s expensive.

DAY 20

Today is Monday, it's a holiday. I wake up at 10:30 AM, and I brush my teeth and clean my face, and bring my basketball to outside. First I meet my friend in the street that was close to my parment, and we want to eat first. The restaurant we go to is a Guang Dong restaurant, Guang Dong is next to Fu Jian, so they are also southern, The people from Guang Dong and Fu Jian, they had the same eating habits, so I don't feel strange.

The meal that we going to eat today is like put the meat and vegetables and rice on a plate, then eat it. We ate it before, but is in a different restaurants, so it will taste a little different. The people from Guang Dong make it a lot, but the people from Fu Jian doesn't, I don't know why, but I like it, I hope the people from Fu Jian also make it a lot, so we will make the best flavor for us. It's not very expensive, one meal only cost six dollars and fifty cents. Or maybe some people will buy some drinks and soup, they also sell fried rice, fried noodles, soup noodles…

I ordered a meal that has two different kinds of meat and vegetables and rice. I don't really know how they make it, but I know it's very yummy. I saw some video that how they make the meat, it's not hard, but I need the different pots and oven. The first meat is Cha Shao, they use some honey and other flavors to put on the meat, and wait for a long time, then put them in the oven and cook it. And another meat is like Bei Jing Duck, they put some flavors in the duck, and put them in the oven and cook it. Then the way to make that vegetables is just use a little oil to fry it. And they put the rice in the bottom, then put the meats and vegetables in the top, and that's it. It only cost six dollars and fifty cents, and I also pay for my friend, so I paid thirteen dollars.

DAY 19

Today is Sunday, I wake up late. When I wake up, I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and clean my face, then I walk down to the kitchen. My breakfast is kind of like rice. In Chinese XiFan is two words, Xi means dilute, and fan means rice, so in FuZhou, Xi Fan uses a lot of water In cook rice. In FuZhou, Zhou means XiFan cooked with glutinous rice. In other cities Zhou means XiFan.

If you are from FuZhou, and lived there a long time, you will have a lot of choice for breakfast in your dream, XiFan is just one of them. But a lot of people choose XiFan for their breakfast in FuZhou, and some people Just eat rice for breakfast, so we think it's weird because rice is dry and a little bit hard. When people eat XiFan, they always get something to eat with XiFan because XiFan and rice both need something to make up the taste. But when my Mom or somebody cooks for me, I always choose rice, not XiFan, I don't even know why I will choose rice. You can also eat XiFan in every meal.

I eat flammulina with my XiFan. The flammulina is in a package, but they cooked the flammulina. The flavor of flammulina is spicy and salt, it’s pretty simple, but it tastes very good. Actually I don’t know how they make it, but I think I can imagine how they make it and think about it. I think they put a little spicy oil( Use a lot of oil to fry a lot of chili, then throw ll the chili to garbage, the oil is spicy oil) in a pot. Then they pit the flammulina into the pot, and they will add a little salt, and stir them until the flammulina start shrink. Then they put them into the package.

DAY 18

Today is Saturday, I wake up at 10:00 AM. When I wake up, the first thing that I do is sent message to my friends in New York City because we have a plan. Our plan is go to the Chinatown in Flashing, and eat real Chinese food. So I brush my teeth and clean my face, and bring my basketball to the park, my friends are waiting me there. We play basketball for an hour, then we take the Chinese bus to Flashing, Queens.

Flashing Queens has a big Chinatown, most people think the Chinatown in Flashing and Brooklyn has more Chinese people and more Chinese restaurant and more Chinese Market. We get to a mall that was called “New world Mall”, it’s a kind of Chinese mall, we just go to the basement of that mall because there is a lot of restaurant in the basement of that mall. So we take the elevator to basement and I see a lot of people and Chinese restaurant, I feel I was back to China. In the center is all tables and chairs and the restaurants are around the tables, so you can go to any restaurant and get any food, then bring them to the table.

We bought a pot of fry dry hot pot and the soup bun. The only difference between the fry dry hot pot and hot pot is the fry dry hot pot don’t have any soup. The soup bun has a lot of meat soup and meat in there. To make the fry dry hot pot is not really hard, they just fry some sauce they was use for hot pot soup and put the meats, vegetables and seafoods in there then fry them, it was spicy, so a lot of people will choose rice to eat with it. The soup bun make a lot of people confused, but I already know how to make it then I was 10 years old. The thing that makes people confused is how they put the soup into the bun, it’s not hard. They make the meat soup and put them into the fridge, so the soup will solidification, then make use the skin that was made from flour to cover the meat and the soup that was been solidification , and steam them. When the soup bun came to your bowl, it will have a lot of soup in there, some people just use the straw to drink it.

DAY 17

Today is Friday, I wake up late and I don't eat anything for breakfast and lunch. I plan to play basketball with my New York City in the park, but they have school today, so I have to wait for them until 3:00 PM. When I went to a bubble tea store, and I bought a bottle of milk tea.

It's taro mango jelly milk tea, it's my favorite one. When I go to Chinatown, I always buy the milk tea in there. There is a lot of American Chinese(They born in America, but their parents are Chinese) buy bubble tea in there, I don’t know why. That store is very small, and it’s in the basement, but they still get a lot of consumers. They also sell some Chinese food and some sandwiches, sometimes I buy breakfast in there.

I ordered a taro mango jelly milk tea, when I ordered it, they will start to make it. I can see how they make it, most bubble tea store show people how they make it. It’s very easy, they get a cup and put the milk and tea and mango jelly and some taro powder, then stir them. And then they get a plastic cup
and put the milk tea into the cup. Their price is not expensive, most milk tea only cost two dollars and fifty cents, the taro mango jelly milk tea is also cost two dollars and fifty cents.

DAY 16

Today is Thursday, it’s a normal school day. When I get home, I finished packing my luggage and I will take the Chinese people’s bus to New York City. My bus leaves at 5:30 PM, when I get to the Chinatown in New York City, it’s around 8:30 PM. When I get there I feel so hungry because I ate my lunch at 1:00 PM. So my parents and my aunt that was lives in the Chinatown and me went to a Chinese restaurant, all the workers are the people that are from Fu Zhou, so they make a lot of Fu Zhou dishes. Actually, most restaurants in Chinatown are Fu Zhou restaurant because most people live in Chinatown is the people who are from Fu Zhou. I’m also from Fu Zhou, so I lived in New York City for half a year.
We ate the fried beef with the black pepper sauce, Chao Mi Fen(A kind of fry noodles), litchi pork(It taste like litchi), fry seafood with vegetables, mixed soup(Use most dishes from the menu to make a soup that tasted sour). I think most of Fu Zhou people have eaten them before, I’m pretty sure 95% or more of Fu Zhou people have eaten the Chao Mi Fen and litchi pork before because every family in Fu Zhou knows how to make them. Chao Mi Fen noodles that was made by rice to cook it,’it’s something with other kind fry noodles, they just fry the vegetables and meat with the noodles. The litchi pork is a popular dish in Fu Zhou, I don’t know why I ordered the litchi pork, maybe is because I can remember that dish forever. Litchi pork is been fried and use some sauce to fried, the sauce taste like litchi, so they called that dish“Litchi pork” They all are real Chinese food,not America Chinese food, if you want to eat the real Chinese food, you have to come to Chinatown and get them.

DAY 15

Today is Wednesday, it's a normal school day. When I get home, I went out to play a little bit and come back to eat dinner. My dinner is the food from my uncle’s restaurant, it's kind of America Chinese food. America Chinese food means when they cooking the dishes, they will try their best to make the flavor the American like.

It's fried rice, the way to cook fried rice is the same with the fried noodles. But in the fried rice, there should be some green beans, carrots, onions, and eggs. But in my uncle’s restaurant, you can choose chicken, beef or shrimp or more than that. This time I choose the fried rice with shrimps. I think every Chinese people have eaten the fried rice before because every Chinese family knows how to make fried rice, when they have empty rice, they will use the empty rice to make fried rice.

If you want to make the homemade fried rice, the first thing you have to do is get some bacon, beans, carrots, onions, eggs, and bacon(When I make the homemade fried rice, I will add bacon). Cut the bacon and onions to small pieces, then put a little bit oil into the pot, and put bacon in there, it will make some oil and smells good. Then put all the things (does not contain rice) in there, and stir them. Then put the rice into the pot, and put a little bit soy sauce and other flavors in there, then stir them, when you stirring the rice, your arm will get tired and you will feel bored, but you have to keep doing it. And the last step is getting them onto your plate, then enjoy them.

DAY 14

Today is Tuesday, it’s a normal school day. I take the bus home and I went out to play a little while. And I come back home, I saw my grandma is making dinner. When I come in to the house, I smell the smell of the meat and vegetables.

We are eating Chinese food for dinner, we get three dishes and rice. That’s what the normal Chinese family, sometimes times we get soup, and sometimes we get drink. The first dish was fry egg with the spicy sausage, that’s very easy to do it, but it’s delicious. The second dish was the fried vegetables, but we just use a little oil to fry it, I think it’s better than the vegetables that didn’t cook. The third dish was the fried beef with the black pepper sauce, but the beef is with the bone, I think all kinds of meat, the meat that’s close to the bone, it will taste better and easy to chew.

To make the fried egg with the spicy sausage, the first thing is cut the spicy sausage to small, and use a bowl to stir the egg liquid, then put a little oil into a pot, and heat the pot. Then put the egg liquid into the pot, and stir them, then put the sausage into the pot and stir them, the last step is put them in a plate. To make the fried vegetables is also very easy, the first thing is to cut the garlic into small, and wash the vegetables, make sure the vegetables don’t have soil with it. And then put a little oil in a pot, and put the garlic in there, then turn to small fire. When the garlic starting to get focal, put the vegetables in, and put the flavors into the pot, then stir, then come to an easy part, it’s put the vegetables into a plate. To make the fry beef with the black pepper sauce is a little bit hard, and I never watched how they make it, but I can think about it and imagine how they make it. My thinking is: They use a little oil to fry the onion, then put the black pepper sauce into the pot. Then they put the beef in there and cook for a few minutes because the beef is not really thick.

DAY 13

Today is Monday, it’s a normal school day. When I get home I feel a little hungry, and I open the fridge and see is there anything that I can eat, but I don’t want to cook them at that time because I have to eat dinner later. So I remember I bought the cup noodles from the supermarket on Saturday, and open the cabinet and take out the cup noodles. The flavor of cup noodles that I was going to eat today is Wei Zeng Tang. I think it’s just the Miso soup because I see the ingredients in there is tofu and kelp and corn…


I never eat the cup noodles that was with the miso soup because I don’t often have miso soup. I been to my uncle’s restaurant, they had miso soup in the menu, and I think the first time that I drink the miso soup is in my uncle’s restaurant. I also been to the kitchen of my uncle’s restaurant, I watched how they make miso soup, it’s very easy and yummy. They have some tofu, kelps and chopped green onions in the plastic pint, and the soup in a big pot. They told me the soup is seafood soup, and just put the seafood soup in the plastic pint that has the tofu, kelps and chopped green onions in there. Or they use a bowl that has the tofu, kelps and chopped green onions in there, and put the seafood soup in there. It taste not bad, but I think the miso soup is not use the real seafood, I think it’s flavored powder because I also see that in the YouTube video. I don’t think people use seafood to make miso soup. So I like the soup that was use the bone from animals or some seafood, but people have to use a lot of time to cook it, like 3-4 hours.

The way to cook the Chinese cup noodles is open all the flavor envelope and put them into the cup. Then put the boil water into the cup and use the plastic fork to cover the lid, the last thing is wait for five minutes. When Chinese people eating the cup noodles they will always add a package sausage into the cup noodles or eggs, I also watched some videos, they use “that just like when I eating a cup noodles, but there is no sausage with my cup noodles.” for example to say something. When I eating the miso soup cup noodles, I was thinking “ would I order a miso soup that was from my uncle’s restaurant, and use that miso soup to cook noodles.” Is it going to taste like the miso soup cup noodles? Maybe I will do it one day.

DAY 12

Today is Sunday, I wake up at 11:30 AM. When I wake up I will go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and clean my face and walk down to the kitchen. On the weekend, what I’m going to eat is open the fridge and see is there anything that I want to eat. So I open the fridge and I see some Chinese cabbage, Razorfish, spicy sausage, minced pork, and eggs. So I got an idea for what I going to eat for my meal.

The main ingredients in this meal are one of the main ingredients of Chinese people's favorite. It’s noodles. Chinese people love noodles, and they make noodles taste different, and also they make different ways to cook noodles. My favorite way to cook noodle is to fry them, just like fry rice. The only different thing between the fried rice and fried noodles is they change the rice to noodles. The reason that I like fry noodles is that I can eat them quickly and tasty. I like any kind of noodles for fry noodles, but my most favorite one is Lo Mein and the second one is instant noodles.

So today I’m going to use instant noodles to cook the fry noodles because I only see instant noodles on the cabinet. So I took the instant noodles out and use put some water in a pot and put the noodles in there, then turn the fire on until the noodles are suitable for eating. Then I have to wash the Chinese cabbages and cut them. Then I took out a bowl and put two eggs and break the eggshells then put egg liquid into the bowl, and stir them. Then I took out a new pot, and put some oil in there, and turn the fire on. I have to fry the egg liquid first and put them back to the bowl, then I have to fry the pork. Then I have to put the Chinese cabbage into the pot and the Razorfish into the put then add the flavor in there. Then I have to put the noodles into the pot and stir them, and I put the sausages into the pot is because I see the sausages in the fridge and I want to cook them with my fry noodles today. The last thing that I do is put the hot sauce into the fry noodles and stir them, it will be awesome. I like spicy food, I like hot sauce because spicy makes food taste better. And I put them into my plate and eat them with drinking a cup of ice water.

DAY 11

Today is Saturday, I went to the Asian food market, and I bought two different flavor cup noodles. Actually it was Chinese market because many Chinese people work on there, most commodities is Chinese commodities. The two cup noodles are from China, they are from same company, but they are not same flavor. It’s a popular company called “Tang Da Ren”. Tan means soup, DaRen is a word, it means philosopher.

If you been to a Chinese supermarket, you can see there is so many different flavors cup noodles. If you been to a walmart in China or other super markets in China, you will think “Is it a cup noodles market?” In China, there is a restaurant that is only cook cup noodles, when you go inside of that restaurant, you will see there is lot of cup noodles, they are all different flavors. When you order something in that restaurant, you can choose whatever you want with the cup noodles, you can choose vegetables or meat or seafood. I think the noodles that was in the Chinese cup noodles is two times of the noodles that was in the America cup noodles. Chinese people also make the super size cup noodles, you can see they write “ Two times noodles” so they use different cup for different size.

The cup noodles that I eat today is a small size cup noodles, the reason that I get small size cup noodles is because I cannot find the one that was super size and the flavor that I like. Chinese cup noodles has a little different than the America cup noodles. The Chinese cup noodles has the noodle in the cup, but the flavor and the food with it is in different envelope, and also they put a plastic fork in there, so you can choose the to put the flavors and the food or not. When I cooking the Chinese cup noodles, what I always do is: I open every flavor envelope and put them into the cup and add boil water in there, and then I will use the plastic fork to cover the lid. When I use the plastic fork to cover the lid, what I do is use my hand to cover the lid first and then use the fork to tie the lid that was most close to the top of cup to the top of cup. Why I do that is because I see everyone in China do that. When I am eating the cup noodles, the soup that was in there is really good, and there is also some small shrimps in there, it makes me surprise because this is my first time buy the cup noodles from that company in the United States. When I was in China I only buy the big size or super size of that company’s cup noodles.

DAY 10


Today is Friday, I go home as normal and eat my dinner at 7:00 PM. Because it’s Friday, I can sleep late and play games with my friends. At 9:30 PM I go downstairs and walk to the kitchen and I take out the milk tea that I bought from the Chinese supermarket. I like to drink milk tea, there are so many different flavors of milk tea. My favorite milk tea is Taro coconut jelly.

There are two types of milk tea, one is made from the store and another one is the package milk tea from the store and then you have made it by yourself. I like both of them. Most people like the Taro coconut jelly milk tea, I do, my friends do. The Taro coconut jelly milk tea is the popular type of milk tea, a lot of people likes it. Chinese people like to drink tea, they also like to drink milk tea. But I don’t drink milk tea a lot of times because there are so many sugars in there. And the coconut jelly is also not really healthy, I don’t know why that’s what my parents told me. There is another name for the milk tea when you add the black pearl(Chinese people call them pearl, but it’s not the real pearl, it just looks like the pearl), it’s called bubble tea, but I’m not really like the bubble tea because the black pearl is very hard to chew.

When you walk into the bubble tea store you can see how they make it. I have seen them make it before, it’s very easy. The first thing is to get a cup and put the ice in there. And then get another cup for stir, in the stirring cup, they put flavors powder and milk and tea. Then they will use a spoon to stir them or use their hand to shake them or use a machine to shake them. After it was shaken they put them into the cup that has ice in it, and then put the black pearl or any jelly in it. The package one is easier than the one made in the store. First, you have to take out all the stuff that they give you, then open all the stuff they give to you, then put them into the paper cup that they give you. Then you need to boil water, then put the boiling water in it. The last step is to use a spoon to stir them if you don’t want to drink hot liquids you can put ice in it.

DAY 9

Today is Thursday, I ride the bus home as normal. When I get home I see there is a bowl of ramen in the fridge, so I took it out, and I put it into the microwave. The ramen is a must from my aunt’s restaurant because it was the Japanese ramen. And the color and the smell, I’m pretty sure it was from my aunt’s restaurant.

I like to eat ramen because I like to eat noodles. But I like the Chinese ramen better than the Japanese ramen. The reason that I like the Chinese ramen than the Japanese ramen is because their flavor and noodles and a little bit of country problems. Actually, I don’t really like Japan and Japanese because I watch so many movies about when Japan attacked China in World War Two and I learned the history about it. The Chinese ramen is bigger than the Japanese ramen, I like the bigger noodles. And the Chinese ramen has so many flavors, but most of Japanese ramen’s flavor is curry. 

The Japanese ramen that I eat today has noodles and vegetables and meat and the curry soup and onion segment. I never saw how they make it, but I can imagine and think about how they make it. First, they put the hot curry soup into a bowl and put the noodles into the boiling water to cook. Then they will put the noodles that were already cooked into the curry soup. The last step is to get some meat and vegetables and put them into the bowl then put the onion segment in the top. But their noodles is like the noodles in the cup noodles, so I always say the Japanese ramen is just the cup noodles.

DAY 8

Today is Wednesday, I take the bus from school to home. When I get home is 4:00 PM, so I ate some snacks and play outside, then I will cook my dinner. My dinner is Chinese food, it's very popular in China, I think everyone in China has eaten it before. The people live in the North part of China, they must eat it at some festival.

I like so many types of dumpling, I saw a dumpling restaurant in the YouTube video, it was in China, there are so many types of dumpling in there, you just have to pay 20CNY(20CNY is round in 3-4 dollars) and you can eat whatever you want from that restaurant. When I go back to China I will go there to eat. I think I will like to eat the Chinese sauerkraut dumpling, but I never eat them before. The reason that I will like Chinese sauerkraut is that I like the Chinese sauerkraut, I like to use the Chinese sauerkraut to cook with the noodles.

If you want to make the chives pork dumpling you just need to buy the dumpling skin and some chives and some pork. First you have to mash the pork(the place that you buy the pork might have a machine to mash the pork). You have to use the knife to cut the chives(the chives must be short). Then you put the pork and chives into the same bowl, and add soy sauce or salt and HaoYou(HaoYou is a kind of seasoning, “耗油”that’s how to write in Chinese), then if you want another flavor you can add whatever you want. Then you have to stir them. Next step is a fun step, it’s put the pork and chives into the dumpling skin. And when you finish making the dumplings you can use water to cook them or steam them or use a little oil to fry them. I like the soy sauce and sweet chili sauce with my dumplings. If you want to save the dumplings you have to put them in the fridge.

DAY 7

Today is Tuesday, I wake up at 7:15 AM. I brush my teeth and clean my face and I go to the dining room to eat my breakfast. My breakfast is Chinese food, it’s popular and tasty. It was made from flour and pork, you can use a little cooking oil to fry them or steam them.

The food is called “RouBao” Rou means meat, Bao means kind of bread. But most time people chose pork for RouBao, but I don’t really know why. In China we buy the RouBao in a bakery, there has two sizes, one is Large and another one is medium. I think the best RouBao is when you buy it and they took the RouBao from the steamer, and you eat it before the RouBao gets cold. Most RouBao has lard in there because they put the pork in there, so when the pork is cooking, the lard will come out from the pork. The lard smells very good, when you eating it you should put the lard and the other part together, it wouldn't taste oily.

My mom makes the RouBao before, it taste very good, but I don't know how to make it. The only thing I know is they put the flours and baking soda in a big wrist, and add water in there, then stir them, then put a plastic wrap, wait for a long time. Then you have to put minced pork in a big wrist, then put soy sauce and other seasoning and chopped green onions in there, then stir them. Next step is put them together, it's the hardest step. You have to use the mixed flour to wrapped the pork if you want to makes it looks good, you can. And when you finished the wrapping you have to put them into a steamer, and wait for the pork is edible. But if it is homemade it doesn't look very well, but it's taste the same to the RouBao from the store.

DAY 6

Today is Monday, I go to school as normal, but I take the ENL listening and reading and writing test. After the test, I go to the gym class, but when I get there, they already finished all the activities. So I just stayed in the locker room and waited for the next period. It's 12:55, everyone is hungry and everyone is running fast to the cafeteria, but I don't want to run because the people run fast and the people run slow, it's no matter, they all can eat their lunch and they all can finish their lunch.

I often buy food from the cafeteria. First I will get a spicy chicken burger and celery and a 1% milk and some ketchup. When I find my seat and I will go to the snack bar to buy three cookies. I always put the ketchup into the spicy chicken burger and eat the spicy chicken burger with the celery. Then I will eat the cookies with the milk. Every school day I eat the same thing, but sometimes I will bring lunch from my home. The spicy chicken burger from the cafeteria for me it's not spicy because I eat a lot of spicy, and the cookies taste sweet, and when I was eating the cookies I should get the milk because it will be more that will make it easier for me to swallow them.

I remember when I first come to the United States, the first day in America’s school, and my first lunch in America’s school is a burger and milk and a pack of cookies. But it’s the first time I eat that kind of cookie, so I’m not really like it because I don’t really eat that kind of cookies in China. But I can eat the burger and milk because I eat them a lot of times in China. But the important thing is I finished all of them but I’m still hungry because I eat a lot of food at my school in China. The reason I eat a lot of food at my school in China is I get a lot of stress and a lot of homework and I have to run at least half mile and I wake up early and sleep late and my lunch period in China is 1:00 PM to 1:40 PM, but my breakfast is in 6:00 AM and I don't have snack time in my school in China. And in China, my teachers often took our lunch time to teach us, so a lot of students in China hate their teachers. But now I am used to the US diet habits, so I can eat most food from America’s school.

DAY 5

Today is Sunday, when I finish my breakfast then I go back to my room and play game with my friends. In 4:30 PM, I feel hungry and I go downstairs and find something to eat. First I opened the fridge, but I don’t want to eat the food from the fridge at that time so I just go to the garage. There is another fridge in the garage, and also don’t want to eat the food from that fridge, but near the fridge I seen there is two big boxes cup noodles, and I feel like I have long time didn’t eat the cup noodle, so I take the spicy shrimp flavor to the kitchen.

I think cook cup noodles are most easy thing in the world because you just have to put the hot water in there and wait. But I always will add something to the cup noodle. This time I only and a egg in there, but it was still tasty. If you are cooking the cup noodles, the first thing you have to do cook the boil water. Then you open half of the paper cup cover,then put the boil water in there, and close the paper cup cover, then use a metal fork to cover them, then wait for five minutes. After five minutes you can open the paper cup cover, and enjoy them.

Another way to wrap the cup noodle is to put the pastry in a clinker. So you can cook them in a pot. I like to cook them in a pot because I can add more food in there. I like the Chinese cup noodles because they had so many different flavors and different companies, and also the pictures of Chinese cup noodles looks good. If there are some meat and uncooked seafood and some vegetables, I will add them into my noodles, and I will add an egg every time. The cup noodles are not healthy, but if you just eat them once a week, it is ok, but if eat them in every meal, it will bring some bad things to your body.

DAY 4

Today is Saturday, I wake up late,so my breakfast and lunch will be combine to one meal. When I wake up and brush my teeth and clean my face, then I take a walk from my bedroom to the kitchen. My meal that I eat in weekends is not planned. At weekend,When I was hungry, I will just open up the fridge, and see what can I eat. I found fish balls in the fridge and I have long time didn’t eat the fish ball, so I just bring them out of fridge. Cooking fish balls is very easy, but making fish balls is very hard. But my fish ball is already made, so I only have to cook it. If you want to cook the fish ball, the first thing you have to do is cook a have pot of water, then put the fish ball in there, when the water is boiling and you have to wait for five minutes. At the time that fish ball is cooking, you can make the fish ball sauce. What I always do is put some YuLu(Is made by small seafood, it was salty) and MSG and sesame oil and hot sauces and sometimes I would put some white vinegar in there. When the fish ball is fished by cooking, then you can use a big soup spoon to put them in to you bowl. If you want to make fish ball, it would take a long time. Fish ball is like meat ball, but fish ball is been mashed. I suggest you don’t make fish ball because when you are making fish ball, you will feel despair, but if you just want to try, you can. If you want to try to make the fish ball, the first thing you have to do is save the fish meat, then you can throw other things to trash can. Then you have to mashed the fish meat till the fish meat is looks like mud, but not in color. Then you have to put the sweet potato flour in there then stir them, and you you need a pot of hot water. Then you have to put the fish meat that's been mashed into your hand, then squeeze them into the middle of your thumb and index finger, and it will looks like a ball, then use a spoon to pick them up, and put them into the hot water, then the fish ball is formed, you can save them and put them into the fridge or just eat them when you finished make them. A lot of people use machines to make fish ball because the machines is faster than hand made. But a lot of people says handmade is better than machines. I have seen my mom make the fish ball, it takes a lot of time.

DAY 3

Today Friday, I go home as normal. When I get home, I go to the Asian Market, but the boss and staff that work in there are Chinese people. The reason I go to the Asian Market because I will eat hot pot tonight. But if you want to buy food for hot pot, you better go to the Chinese market because in the Chinese market, they have a lot of food for hot pot.

Hot pot was started in the west part of China, but the people that are from the west part, they moved to everywhere of China, and they also build a lot of restaurants in every city in China. Their food is popular because their food is tasty and spicy. But in the people that are from the south part of China, they don’t eat a lot of spicy, so they created a new version of hot pot. The people that are from the south part of China, they like to drink soup, but their soup will take at least an hour to cook. When the southerner and westerner eat hot pot together, so they created a new pot, the new pot has to part, it’s just like put a thin iron plate regular pot, so one part can put the regular soup in there and another part is spicy soup.

If you want to eat hot pot in your home, you just have to buy the pot for hot pot, and get some water, then buy a spice packet, and whatever you want to put into the hot pot. If you are trying to make a hot pot, you need the boiling water in the pot, and put the spice packet(The spice is powder) into the boiling water, the most popular spice packet for hot pot in China is tomato soup and spicy soup. I like spicy soup, and you have to put the food that was hard to cook into the pot first. My favorite food for spicy hot pot is coagulated pig blood, beef slices, some animal internal organs, enoki mushroom, fish balls, beef balls. . .When you are eating the hot pot, you have to put the food that was hard to cook first, then when the soup is boiling you can put the food that was quick to cook.

DAY 2

Today is a normal school day, I wake up at 7:15 AM and take 10 minutes to fold quilt and brush my teeth and wash my face, then I take a walk from my room to the dining room. My breakfast is kind of like rice. In Chinese XiFan is two words, Xi means dilute, and fan means rice, so in FuZhou, Xi Fan uses a lot of water In cook rice. In FuZhou, Zhou means XiFan cooked with glutinous rice. In other cities Zhou means XiFan.

If you are from FuZhou, and lived in there a long time, you will have a lot of choice for breakfast in your dream, XiFan is just one of them. But a lot of people choose XiFan for their breakfast in FuZhou, and some people Just eat rice at breakfast, so we think it's weird because rice is dry and a little bit hard. When people eat XiFan, they always get something to eat with XiFan because XiFan and rice both need something to make up the taste. But when my Mom or somebody cooks for me, I always choose rice, not XiFan, I don't even know why I will choose rice. You can also eat XiFan in every meal.

In China, I can choose HaWon(HaWon is FuZhou localism, Its shape looks like a donut, but HaWon is fried with rice syrup and some ingredients) with my breakfast. HaWon is a popular food with XiFan in FuZhou, people also eat HaWon with other food. HaWon is cheap in the market that near to my house in China, a HaWon only costs 50 cents of Chinese Yuan in China, but I don't know the current If I get a HaWon I can use it to finish a big bowl of XiFan. But I can't found HaWon in the United States, so when I eat XiFan, I will just choose any food to Eat with XiFan

DAY 1

Today is a school day, I go home from school as normal. The first thing that I will do when I get home is to take a pack of snack or something to eat. Then I will stay in my bedroom do my homework, read, and watch YouTube videos untill 6:00 PM. 6:00 PM is the time that I am going to cook dinner. At 6:00 PM I take a walk from my bedroom to the kitchen. I'm going to cook a meal like put two different dishes into one, and use two different cooking methods, so it was a new dish that I created from me. The two dishes are both from China, but they are from a different place of China. One is from my hometown-FuZhou, and another one is very popular in China, so every city just created the flavor that they like to eat. And the first method is from ShangHai and another is from FuZhou.The two dishes is HongShaoRou and DaZhaHui, and the two methods are the taste of food that people from two different cities like. Cooking this dish, you need to cut the pork into 5cm cubes, then put them in boiling hot water with ginger slices and some cooking wine. (The cooking wine is originally seasoned, the alcohol concentration inside is very low, the children can use it in moderation. In the Chinese restaurant, cooking wine is used, because cooking wine can make the food taste better). Cook for 4-5 minutes, then you need to remove the meat and drain it. Then you need to dry the pot, add oil to the pot, and then put the sugar or sugar cube in the pot, then turn on the low heat to make the color of the sugar turn brown. Then you have to put the meat in it and stir it. When all the meat is stained with sugar,
you should add soy sauce, and some seasonings.
