My Favorite Festival:Dragon Boat Festival (端午节)

Many Asian countries will go through the Dragon Boat Festival, but the Dragon Boat Festival is a festival from China. Every Chinese knows the Dragon Boat Festival because in China, there will be a holiday during the Dragon Boat Festival, but after each holiday we will hold a big exam, which is the most feared thing for every student. I always like the Dragon Boat Festival because I can draw a dragon boat in the Dragon Boat Festival. It is an adult sport, but children can also participate. I really like to row dragon boats, but I have participated in this sport three times. The legend of the Dragon Boat Festival is: A long time ago, there was a poet in Chu State of China. His name was Qu Yuan. For some reason, he committed suicide by holding a stone and jumping into the river. So people didn’t want the fish and shrimp in the river to eat the body of Qu Yuan. I live in a city in China: Fuzhou. There are different dragon boats in every place in China. I live in Fuzhou, so I will see the traditional dragon boat of Fuzhou. In my hometown, people will carry the dragon boat into the river for training one month before the Dragon Boat Festival. It is really cool because you can see many dragon boats moving in the river. My father told me that when he was a child. At that time, he could see about 100 dragon boats moving in the river. When I was seven years old, my dad taught me how to be a good oarsman, but after that, I rarely drew a dragon boat, because I almost drowned in the river when I was eight, it was very scary. Although I am not dead. In Fuzhou, we have a dragon boat club. After they train every day, they will have a party and lunch. I go every year because the food there is really delicious, but I didn’t eat it this year because I am in The United States.

The scorpion is a Chinese cuisine. The inside of the scorpion is glutinous rice, with one or two layers of leaves on the outside, and a long line. In the United States, I only know that there is a Fuzhou dragon boat in Queens, New York City, where young people from Fuzhou are doing the sport. The scorpion is hard to find in the United States unless you find a Chinese family, I don't know where to buy the scorpion in that store, I think it can be bought at the Asian Food Market in Albany. If you want to have a Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, you must eat a Zongzi and watch a dragon boat race or participate in a dragon boat race.
